J. Ferretti – Wojtas
My interest in drawing and painting began when I was a very
young child, drawing with chalk on the walk in front of our house; later with
pencil, paint and crayon on paper.
As a child I participated in classes at the Memorial Art Gallery,
Rochester New
York. I also
took classes in Art while in primary and secondary school. I would create flowers using crepe
paper….Roses being a favorite; Daffodils and Daisies. Also sketched and made paper stickers to use
as stationery decorations and made cutouts for special holiday decorating from
construction paper for my young siblings.
Most of my work came from personal practice, using text
books and the classes mentioned; however during my adulthood and in an effort
to further develop my work, I took classes in Drawing and Watercolor painting
at the Creative Workshop at the Memorial Art Gallery, noted works of great
artists on display, studying their techniques.
Currently I am a member of the Irondequoit Art Club and I
take pleasure in learning new and interesting ways of producing artistic
creations….I especially enjoy using Watercolor Pencils and Watercolor Acrylic
Paints.
My advice to aspiring artists is “practice; practice;
practice”…..
