About Irondequoit Art Club The
Irondequoit Art Club is a group of local artists who meet on the 4th
Tuesday of every month from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pinegrove Center at 154
Pinegrove Avenue in West Irondequoit. Meetings consist of business
matters followed by a demonstration by a professional artist. These
demonstrations are open to the public and cover a wide range of art
forms - painting, sculpture, printmaking, etc. They are fun as well as
educational.
On most Wednesday
afternoons (usually 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.), the Art Club holds workshops at
Pinegrove to share lunch, art and ideas. Wednesday activities include
monthly critiques on ongoing pieces being created by the members,
painting, drawing, watching art videos or otherwise creating. Drawing
and painting outings are scheduled when possible.

This is a drawing outing at the Canal in Pittsford.
The
Art Club sponsors two shows each year - a Spring Show, which is a
juried show for its members and a Fall Show, which exhibits both arts
and crafts. Both are open to the public. Art works are sold through
either of the shows. The Spring Show includes an opening reception
where awards are given to those pieces found to be notable by judges
who themselves are professional artists &/or art instructors.
Awards are also presented by the Art Club to promising high school art
students, selected by their teachers.
Membership
in the Irondequoit Art Club is open to amateur and professional artists
who are 18 years of age or older. Membership is $20 a year. Checks
should be made out to IAC and mailed to Walter Musliner c/o Pinegrove
Center, 154 Pinegrove Ave., Rochester, NY 14617.
A
member is eligible to exhibit in the shows if 4 meetings are attended
in the year prior to the show (including Wednesday sessions) and other
criteria are met. Applications for membership are available at either
of the Irondequoit Art Club shows during the year, by writing the Art
Club at 154 Pinegrove Avenue, Rochester, NY 14617, coming to the
Pinegrove Center at meeting or workshop times, or by contacting our
Membership Chairperson, Carol Riesenberger.
The
Irondequoit Art Club offers an exciting way to create with the support
of other artists and is open to any and all who share that idea. The
Club is a community resource for art and continues to evolve in both a
common direction and in many directions as individual artists. Our
artists represent a wide range of talent and we are proud of all of
them.
Come and join us!!
